I found pottery around 2017 when I was in graduate school. A fellow potter described pottery as a nepenthe (definition: something that induces forgetfulness of sorrow or eases pain) and I couldn’t agree more. I took classes on and off until 2020 when the world went into lockdown. I returned toward the end of 2022 and have been falling more and more in love with this craft since. I love how it combines technical craft with creative flow and letting go.

I always say that pottery is a practice in non-attachment because at any point in the process it can break/fall apart/get ruined; but when something makes it to the end it’s worth celebrating, enjoying, and sharing.
